Unlike the garden gourmet composter outside, there are many people that do not want to use a compost container in the kitchen, thinking that it will be smelly and the process sounds like a dirty and messy hassle. It isn’t at all so, if you do it the proper way. Using a compost kitchen container is easy and after a very short time, it becomes second nature to you.
You can eliminate odor easily by emptying your container into the garden gourmet composter or compost pile each day, and then washing it with warm soapy water. If you use a container with a lid that is tight fit, it will also prevent odor.
You can fill your compost container with organic kitchen scraps, but please do not put fats, bones, meaty stuff or dairy products into it. These materials need special composting and will cause odors and attract animals to your outdoor composter.
With the kitchen composter you do not need that much waste to start composting, like you do need to start a compost pile that need a lot waste to start up the heating process. These indoor composters let the active agents work straight away, no need to wait for a big pile of waste to start produce your compost. These active composters can produce compost in four to eight weeks, which is much faster than a traditional compost pile.
No one wants to run a long way to the compost pile when they eat an apple or chop some onions, therefore you can get yourself a kitchen composter. There are composters called the kitchen crock, looks like cookie jars and fit neatly on your counter top, right there were u want it to place in that apple or onion scraps.
Put in your coffee grinds, carrot peels, watermelon rinds etc. there it can start with the process until you can go dump it on the pile or in your garden gourmet composter. Inside the lid of the kitchen crock is a carbon filter that prevent bad odors, you won’t smell anything and neither do those pesky fruit flies.
There are plenty of different styles to choose from kitchen composters to choose from, especially the kitchen crocks. You can even match them with your kitchen style. For a modern Kitchen there is a stainless steel one and a ceramic one for a country style kitchen.
Please, don’t forget to empty your kitchen composter, i will not going with it for more than a week in the kitchen and remember to wash I thoroughly after each time you empty it.
